Camp Evergreen, Andover, to Host Springtime Magic Show for Families

Local, award winning magicians to perform amazing “miracles” on outdoor stage!

April 18, 2009, N. Andover, MA: Camp Evergreen, located at 166 Jenkins Road in Andover, MA, will host a performance of spectacular children’s magic on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 2:00-3:15pm by the members of Ring 122, Silent Mora, the local chapter of the prestigious International Brotherhood of Magicians. Seeking to raise awareness of local magicians and increase membership in the magic community, The Silent Mora Ring will showcase its best performers in this unique show designed for children ages 5 and up. A family show with special pricing ($10/individual; $25/family), this one-time event is the perfect way to spend a magical spring afternoon.

Silent Mora was a famous magician who lived and died in Boston in the last century. He performed one of the finest sleight-of-hand acts and used only mime to communicate to the audience. Ring 122, founded in 1952 by magic enthusiasts and professional performers from Watertown and Newton, named itself in honor of Mora and continues to spread astonishment, laughter, and wonder in his name. Seven members of Silent Mora, including “Doc” Rogers, winner of the 2007 New England Magic Close-up Competition, will perform. Cards, money, and balls will vanish and reappear, doves will mysteriously take flight out of nowhere, metal will pass through metal: you won’t believe your eyes at the astounding magic that will happen at Camp Evergreen!
