Basic Woodworking I: Box

An introduction to the fundamentals of woodworking. Start with a given plan and work it through to completion using hand and power tools. Class covers shop safety, the properties of wood, interpreting a plan, cutting and milling stock and basic joinery, always stressing safe, effective use of tools. Because this class moves at a deliberate pace and qualifies students for Woodworking Open Shop, complete attendance is required. (Please see our policies on withdrawals on-line.)
