TOR: What is a Wiki?

Thursday, Feb 9 7:00p
Age Suitability: None Specified

The GSLIS Tech Lab in Boston will be offering a free workshop, "What is a Wiki".
This workshop is aimed at people who are working on the Technology Orientation Requirement (TOR) and for people who have little or no experience with wikis. (The workshop will cover everything that the TOR requires and even more!) A wiki is a Web site that anyone can edit, whether or not they have knowledge of Web programming. Wikis allow users to collaborate in forming the content of a Web site. With a wiki, any user can edit the site content, including other users' contributions, using a regular Web browser. In this workshop we'll cover what a wiki is and how to use one, and you'll get time to play around and get used to adding and editing content on a wiki.
Please note:
GSLIS students, staff, faculty, and alumni are welcome
each session of the workshop will cover the same material
If you have any questions or if you need to cancel your reservation, please email the workshop series staff at workser@simmons.edu.
Thank you and we hope to see you there,
Your friends at the GSLIS Tech Lab in Boston
