Sacred Space

330 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA, 02115

After a fire destroyed the University's Bacon Memorial Chapel in 1996, a new Spiritual Life area— with an award-winning design — was created within the same space on the second floor of the Ell Building. Dedicated in 1998, The Sacred Space is an open, warmly lit and simply furnished area. It offers an atmosphere of peace, a sense of the holy and a refuge for prayer, contemplation or meditation. Designed for multifaith use, the Sacred Space is a truly inclusive area in which the needs of many spiritual and religious traditions are taken into account.

The Sacred Space is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm, and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (hours will vary over intersessions and holidays).

Scheduling for groups, as well as for weddings, memorial services and other religious ceremonies can be made through the Spiritual Life Center office at 203 Ell, (617) 373-2728, during regular business hours. A Space Request Form can be found elsewhere on this site, under "Use Our Facilities."
