Rutt’s book is truly a local collaboration. Much of the material results from a local study group she facilitated for nine years on the Bhagavad Gita - “an allegory of life experience.” The Gita translation given by local Sanskrit scholar, George Thompson; cover artwork by local artist, Jan Grossman; and published here in Brookline by Sid Hall of Hobblebush Books.
Stressing that her book is: “…a hands-on study guide for the spiritual journey of the ordinary person,” rather than a scholarly work, Rev. Rutt explains further: “It is written from an interfaith perspective.” Her intention was to make her work accessible to all regardless of their faith and “… to show that each of us has a gift that we must bring into the world.”
Rev. Rutt serves as minister at the Tree of Life Interfaith Fellowship in Milford; she also teaches yoga, sacred dance, mantra prayer and leads spiritual study groups in Christian and Hindu traditions as well as having a private pastoral mentoring practice.
