Tourlentes grew up in the gay community and has photographed the same-sex parented family movement for 13 years. She investigates the reworking of gender and ethnic, religious and cultural/class roles for family life, lobbyist groups, coalitions and corporate sponsorship, and the portrayal of LGBT community in the media.
