Murkland Hall, Richards Auditorium

On Monday, Nov. 1, at 4:30 in Richards Auditorium, Murkland Hall, UNH Durham, Anthony Grafton of Princeton University, President of the American Historical Association, will lecture on: "Life on the Burning Deck: Defending the Humanities in the 21st Century." Grafton is the author of 20 books and writes regularly for the New Yorker, New York Review of Books, and the New Republic. He is widely admired not only for his impeccable scholarship but for his sense of humor and his ability as a public speaker. Refreshments beforehand; Public welcome.
