The 18th Annual Essex Music Festival will take place Saturday, August 27th at Centennial Grove, Rte 22, Essex Massachusetts. The Americana Roots Music Festival, with 20 Bands, will run Rain or Shine from noon to 10pm. Gates open at 11:30.Tickets are just $10.00 and are available only at the gate, under 16 are free. No pets Please. There is plenty of parking in a and around the site with a convenience shuttle available. Food and Beverages will be available at the festival. The festival is hosted by the string band "Old Cold Tater" and will feature many of the Northshore's most popular performers on two stages until 7pm then an special evening spilt feature that will include the grooving band KMBG and then a Cajan Dance featuring the popular Ralph Tufo and the Squeezebox Stompers taking place on the Main Stage.
The Americana Roots Music theme of the festival showcases a diverse selection of genres and performers that includes: Orville Giddings and Allen Estees perform blues, country classics and originals, The Snake Oil Jug Band playing Ragtime and Authentic Rowdy Goodtime, Tom Eaton and Pick3 playing genuine acoustic Bluegrass, Paul Prue and Hayden Blues Boys performing steel string slide guitar on classic country blues, Rodger Pierce of Tamarac entertaining the crowd with his own style of favorites and snappy padda, Judy C and friends doing Folk-Rock and Celtic Americana, The Backwoods Ramblers singing and playing Beatles to Bluegrass, Daisy Nell and Captain Stan bringing Sea Chanties and Maritime Folk, Jigs and Reels on the Bagpipes by Greg Morrow, Fingerpickin blues and smooth vocals by Chick and Ellen, Honky Tonk Women soaring accapella performance, Soloists Joe Boyd and CTs Jon Swift. The amazing one man band of Jeff Fraser, Band Of Chiefs with law enforcement favorites, Not that Blonde, The Ernie Ward Band, Whistling Jamie and more.. for a full day of entertainment on the shores of Chebacco Lake in Essex.
This years new and improved vendors will include reasonable priced items that includes pulled pork, burgers and dogs, veggie wraps and cold noodles, chowder, beverages including beer and wine. Diamond Cove Music will cater gear and instruments to the musicians, Kids activiites include face painting and juggling or a swim at the beach. a free BANJO RAFFLE is included with your paid admission. Parking Lot Pickin'n and Jam areas for acoustic string players. Big shade tent.
