The Mental Health Working Group of the First Parish Church of Groton, Unitarian Universalist, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of North Central Massachusetts invite the public to a free showing of the highly acclaimed film, “The Soloist,” in the church vestry on Friday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m.
“The Soloist” is the true story of the relationship between musician Nathaniel Ayers (played by Jamie Foxx) and reporter Steve Lopez (played by Robert Downy, Jr.). Ayers was a student at the Julliard School of Music when he developed schizophrenia. Lopez met Ayers as a homeless street musician. The film is rated PG-13.
First Parish Church of Groton is located at the intersection of Route 40 and Route 119 in Groton. Refreshments will be served after the showing, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
