Chickadee Birders: Eagles and Owls

Sunday, Mar 4 1:00p
Price: Children $50.00m/ $60.00nm
Age Suitability: None Specified
Tags: nature, outdoors

We will explore the Merrimac River and Parker River National Wildlife Refuge areas in search of snowy owls and eagles. We may also find Short-eared owls just before sunset. We will introduce elementary age children (ages 7-11 or grades 2-5) to the basics of birding, bird life, and seasonal migration through talks, activities and field trips. Birding is a lifelong skill that can lead to a greater interest in the outdoors and the environment as a whole. Fee covers one child with one parent. For more information, contact Becky Gilles at bgilles@massaudubon.org or 781-259-2223. For off-site programs, transportation provided from Drumlin Farm Education parking lot. Registration is required. Call (781) 259-2206 for details. See http://www.massaudubon.org/catalog/listing.php?program_code=1845-DFP12WI1 for more information.
