This lecture will focus on the basics of field identification, and how to use your field guide effectively. We'll talk about how to quickly gather essential information when you see a bird, and then efficiently narrow down your choices in order to make a positive identification. The Spring Fling field trip (Sunday, March 25) will offer an excellent opportunity to put your new knowledge into practice. We will have copies of Kaufman's Field Guide to Birds of North America available for use or you may bring your own. Open to adults and anyone age 16-17 with an adult. Registration is required. Call (781) 259-2206 for details. See http://www.massaudubon.org/catalog/listing.php?program_code=1599-DFP12WI1 for more information.
