The Pierrot Project: Moondrunk Madness, Transgression, and Transcendence

The Pierrot Project is a semester-long interdisciplinary exploration of Schoenberg's Pierrot lunaire (1912) for voice & chamber ensemble. It includes courses on the work's historical & cultural origins team-taught by Joseph Auner & Donald Berman; faculty & student ensembles performing the piece; new Pierrot-inspired compositions by Tufts composers; an exhibit in the Aidekman Arts Center; & guest lectures from university faculty. This culminating concert will feature vocalist Susan Narucki.
