Evening Birding Ramble At Appleton Farms

Join us for a two-hour afternoon/evening walk on the grounds of Appleton Farms and Grass Rides. These beautiful conservation areas in Ipswich and Hamilton, owned by The Trustees of Reservations, provide mixed habitats that support many bird species. During our program, we will explore several sites, looking for nesting birds. By mid-May, red-winged blackbirds, Baltimore orioles, eastern meadowlarks, bobolinks, scarlet tanagers, rose-breasted grosbeaks, and many other species have begun to breed. As we walk along, we will see the courtship and territorial displays of many of these species and enjoy their magnificent songs.
