Harvey is one of the most accomplished pianists in the Boston area. His career in jazz spans more than 50 years, from his first gigs as a teenager in hometown of San Francisco, to performing across the U.S. and Europe, accompanying celebrated jazz singer Sheila Jordan and trumpeter Art Farmer and others. Harvey was a long-time student of Lennie Tristano, known throughout the world as a jazz innovator, and received his bachelor's degree in music from San Francisco State. He has been a faculty member at the Berklee College of Music and is currently on the faculty of the Winchester Community School of Music. He combines performing with teaching both adult and young students.
