Neighbors Help Neighbors During Make a Difference Day
Food Drive on October 24
On Saturday, October 24, the Rotary Club of Tewksbury and the Tewksbury Town and Rural Mail Carriers will hold a “Make a Difference Day” food drive to benefit needy families in Tewksbury. On Saturday, October 24, the Tewksbury mail carriers will pick up non-perishable food donations from town residents during the regular mail pick-up. You can leave donated items in a bag near their mailbox during that day. All donations are greatly appreciated. Some of the food items that will serve. All donations are appreciated and here are some of the suggested food donations:
Baked beans, Beef stew, Canned chili, Canned corned beef hash,
Canned tuna, fish or chicken, Coffee - instant or ground,
Boxes of tea bags or hot chocolate, Instant potatoes, Jam or jelly (plastic jars),
Juice (plastic containers), Concentrated juice in cans, Powdered drink mixes,
Macaroni and Cheese, Pasta sauce (canned), Peanut butter, Powdered milk
Other beneficial items: Canned milk, Cereal, Crackers (saltines or snack),
Drink mixes, Flour, Sugar, Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard, Pancake mix and pancake syrup,
Salad dressings, Sugar-free foods
Household items: Bathroom tissue, Shampoo, Soap, Deodorant, Toothbrushes, Disposable razors, Dishwasher/laundry liquid soap Items for particular needs: low-sodium products and baby foods and paper products.
Tewksbury Rotary Club and community volunteers will help to unload trucks and stock food pantry shelves at the Tewksbury Food Pantry. The donated food will help many needy families in Tewksbury receive adequate food supplies during the upcoming holidays and winter season. You can also help by donating your time! We welcome individuals, families, students and groups to help unload trucks and stock shelves at the Food Pantry located on 999 Whipple Road in Tewksbury (behind the Tewksbury DPW) from noon to 6 p.m. If you’d like to volunteer your help, call the food pantry at 978-858-2273 or come by and join us at the pantry.
