There is much satirical diversion to be had in this 18th-century comedy of manners. At the Hardcastle country estate, two impassioned sweethearts, along with a socially ambitious stepmother and the irrepressible Tony Lumpkin, engage in a multitude of schemes and ruses, all for love.
