The Fresh Air Fund will hold a host meeting on Wednesday June 8th at the Northborough Public Library from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is celebrating its 135th summer of providing free summer vacations to New York inner city children. Through the generosity of host families who open their home to a child for a week or two during the summer, city children experience the joys of summer in the suburbs. Current and former hosts will share their experiences and answer questions about the program.

Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has been giving inner-city children the joy of a summer vacation through the Fresh Air Fund’s Friendly Town program. Volunteer host families open their homes to New York City children from low-income communities. Host families are located throughout 13 Northeastern states and Southern Canada, with over 120 children last summer that stayed in our area. Fresh Air youngsters on first-time visits are six to 12 years old and stay for up to two weeks. Refreshments will be served.
