Fahima Vorgetts is the Director of the Afghan Women's Fund. She grew up in Afghanistan and was forced to flee during the Soviet invasion at the age of 24. Her organization builds schools for girls in Afghanistan and holds
literacy classes for women.. She is a winner of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ann Arundel Peace Action Organization. Website: www.womenforafghanwomen.org
Ralph Lopez is founder and co-director of Afghan Marshall Plan, which is committed to a civilian solution to the war. He and his Afghan colleague Najim Dost produced and directed the short documentary "Afghan Peace Plan," which explores the problem of 40% unemployment and its relation to the insurgency.
Both speakers are featured in Robert Greenwald's film "Rethink Afghanistan." Slides, short film, refreshments.
