March is the transitional month between the snow, ice and freezing temperatures of a New England winter and the first mild weather of spring. It is also the month in which the first migrants arrive and many of our wintering species stage for a migration north. And the very first migrant song can be heard in this month. March is an exciting and challenging time to bird. This class will focus on early spring bird migration as well as other natural signs of the changing of the seasons. For middle-advanced level birders. Field trips will be on weekends, weather-permitting. Registration is required. Call (508) 753-6087 for details.
